just wanted to share another blog that i drool over daily.
best blog title ever, right?
…
and the food, oh the food. here are some of my latest seasonal obsessions…
pumpkin + thyme + mac and cheese
white cheddar black pepper scones
and yes, i am going to milk the new mama thing and get my hubby to whip some of these up asap. honey, it isn’t just that I want it…it is our daughter. elinor needs proper culinary stimulation and nourishment… pretty please? just look at that widdle face… [cue baby eyelash batting]
aaannnd…dinner is served!
as evidenced by our numerous posts with pictures of burgers [here and here and here and here and here and here and here and here and here and oh yeah, here]…hubby and i likey the burgers. we make these delicious little discs of beef at home every so often but we usually resort to restaurants to get that perfect patty to cheese to toppings to bun ratio. you know what i am talking about, people. there is some kind of magic that burger joints add that i have just never been able to capture.
until now. never fear, martha stewart is here! i recently stumbled upon a perfect picture of burger scrumptiousness accompanied by a detailed recipe that only martha could provide. who needs to go out to dinner when you can get the perfect burger in your own kitchen? my thoughts exactly. which is why i am planning to cook up these babies in the coming days. i just hope that they live up to that pile of meaty goodness seen in the picture above. i will keep you posted.

i would love for you to try it out too! let me know what you think of the recipe OR share any of your famous burger tips so we can all perfect the patty together.
this room is pretty much close to perfect in my book. those dark walls. that supple leather. that rich wood. that velvet couch. the marble fireplace. that crown molding. the animal skin rug. if the picture didn’t cut off mid-room, i’m sure you would see exquisite curtains and grand bookcases. and do you see those black and white floors in the background? that makes me think that the rest of the house isn’t too shabby.
i can only hope that this home is somewhere on the outskirts of london. with green countryside surrounding. lovely.
hubby, i’m ready when you are!
i have been snatching up some real gems from etsy. such a dangerous site. so many cute things. so many quaint collections. so many creative people…all in one place! oh my.
after i felt sufficiently inspired, i took all my ideas for baby girl’s room and created a design board to map it all out. so much fun! the springboard was my quirky idea for a kate spade-esque inspired wall that would be bright green with gold leaf polka dots. from there, i added in the furniture. once all of the big items were selected, the fun really began once i began adding in the decorative accents. the little, special touches that would add plenty of personalization, playful pizzazz, and personality. and so, i headed over to etsy to collect inspired pieces that would speak to my childhood favorites, meaningful quotes, and family memories.
here are the prints that i found and subsequently purchased. i think these will provide lots of color and interest to the walls. plus! they will be super cute with the amazing quilt that my mom is creating.
little girl, you are in for a treat!
* the green print was our first purchase and a fabulous statement piece for the room. it serves as a baby girl tribute to grandpa ridley’s love of golf…a typographical tour of the flowers and foliage at each of augusta’s 18 holes. a perfect find.
have you checked out the selby? it is perfect for people [like me] who like to people watch, or peek in windows, or blog stalk. it gives you a window into the homes and workplaces of creative and talented people. fabulous for design inspiration and fresh takes on life. very inspirational.
here are just a few examples for you to enjoy.

i’ve been doing some research. did you know that there are hundreds, if not thousands of pinterest boards dedicated to cheese? awesome, i know. and it is no wonder, cheese is perfection. you can dip things in it, melt it on pasta, melt it between two slices of bread, spread it on bagels, spread it on crackers, slice and serve with fruit or charcuterie, turn it into cake, whip it into frosting. amazing. i love cheese. i love the way it looks when it melts on bread. i love the way it seeps into the nooks and crannies of pasta. i love dipping things into a cauldron of melted and oozy goodness. it is so good.
not convinced? okay. take a look at some of these…
need more? just head over to pinterest and type “cheese” into the serach bar. then try not to crave mac and cheese, fondue, or a sandwich. yum.
my mom taught me well. i remember watching her when i was little as she cleansed and moisturized her skin, delicately dabbed her perfume, and carefully applied her makeup. i would mimic her technique. i so loved when we would do pedicures and facials together and she would share her tips and tricks. i admired her attention to detail. i watched as she would clean her makeup brushes, organize all of her products, and use “just enough”. she wanted to savor her little beauty treats and make them last. she always took such great care. i so appreciate that time and those lessons.
it wasn’t frivolous or vain, she was illustrating the importance of taking care of what God has given you. from her skin to the products in her purse. she wasn’t wasteful. she wasn’t indulgent. she didn’t take it for granted. she was careful and thoughtful. she knew how to save on some things and splurge on others. and she knew how to enjoy it all.
to this day, we still have fun little chats about the latest chanel nail color, the top beauty editor picks, the perfect mascara [i love maybelline the falsies, by the way], and the best drugstore steals. it is fun to be a girl.
over the years, i have tried my share of products. i love lip glosses. i am a sucker for body lotions. i am a big time fan of spa-like skin treatments. and i find myself drawn to pretty smelling stuff in cute packaging. i like to try things and then settle in on my go-to beauty items. while some products will come and go with seasons and seasons of life, there are a few that have stood the test of time and that i continue to look to.
here is my personal list of beauty product favs:
